Anamorph
Puzzle #000, today

Find the angle where the pieces line up.

The pieces look like nothing from almost every direction. From one direction they make a picture. You get three tries to find it.

How it works

1

Every piece floats at its own distance and its own tilt. From almost anywhere they are just shards.

2

Drag in any direction to move around the cloud. The pieces glow as you get close, but they never tell you which way to turn.

3

Lock in when you see the picture. Three tries a day, and a streak for every day you get it.

Why there is always an answer

The puzzle is built backwards from its own answer. Each piece is pushed away along a line from the solving viewpoint and made bigger by exactly the amount that keeps it the same size on screen. From that one spot, everything lands where the picture needs it. It is the same trick as pavement art that only works from one place on the footpath. More on how it works.
